Meet Our Makers

It is our vision and mission at the heart of AinslieWear to inspire confidence and make people feel good. We want to showcase and celebrate the ideas, people and community behind the work we do. It is with this in mind, that we are proud to join the conversation and take part in Fashion Revolution week for 2018.

Fashion Revolution was formed following the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh in 2013. The devastating event brought worldwide exposure and awareness to the poor working conditions experienced by many in the industry. The Fashion Revolution movement calls for greater transparency, sustainability and ethics in the fashion industry, by asking the question Who Made My Clothes? On the 5th anniversary of the Rana Plaza collapse, we will be joining Fashion Revolution to show you the people behind AinslieWear.

AinslieWear is based in Vancouver, Canada. Our in-house team of designers, cutters and sewers hand make leotards for dancers all over the globe. Meet the makers behind your dancewear…

 The Cutting Team

Eddie, Noel and Andy (+ Sarah from Product Development).

Our team of cutters are the first step in the manufacturing process. These gentlemen measure and cut fabric into an array of different shapes and sizes. At this stage of the process, your leotard looks like a jumble of jigsaw puzzle pieces!

From cutting to sewing...

The Sewing Team

Liven, Jessie, Suki, Feng, Lynn, Maggie, Sammy, Vivian and Celine.

Our sewing team take those jigsaw pieces of fabric from the cutters and brings your leotard to life. From seams, to intricate detailing, to clasp embellishments, these ladies work their magic to ensure you receive the best product possible – and know how to have a good laugh while they’re at it!
